Georgian Banking Training Center (GBTC)
The Georgian Banking Training Center (GBTC) is established by the Association of Banks of Georgia (ABG) and the Caucasus University (CU) which operates in Tbilisi, Georgia. In the lunch of GBTC financial assistant of USAID SME support project has issued the grant, which was the initial and most vital point in the development of this program. The primary objective of the GBTC is to address Georgian banking sector’s needs and provide certificate-training programs for professional bankers that will meet the requirements of local business community as well as international standard and certification requirements. The innovative programs, excellent teaching, research and service, as well as a strong business network make GBTC unique. Although the GBTC initially is designed primarily for commercial banks, later it will be open to all financial companies; including but not limited to Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs), the NBG, insurance companies, leasing companies, pension funds, the securities industry, and individuals that are seeking a career in finance. The program also offers a good opportunity to trainees to switch to degree (BBA or MBA) programs of the Caucasus University and several credit hours taken as a part of GBTC training program can be transferred and counted towards completion of either BBA or MBA programs.
